While at Bowl Expo 2012 in Reno, LeagueFriend founder (we also call him “fearless leader”), Mark Wyner, had an opportunity to see a QubicaAMF pinspotter* in operation firsthand. The engineering behind these machines is absolutely fascinating. Why isn’t there an entire episode of “Modern Marvels” dedicated to this?!

*You’re thinking “but it’s called a ‘pinsetter’!” Yes, it’s also called that, though QuibicaAMF calls them pinspotters. Wikipedia tells us that both words are acceptable. Though, the authors of the entry tend to use “pinsetter” more often than “pinspotter.”
